WHAT ARE THE FONTS AND FONT TYPES. HOW SHOULD THEM BE USED?
In this section, you will find a font manuscript with all the information about what fonts are, how they should be installed, and how they should be used in many different applications.
What are the fonts?
Without going too far into the technical aspects of fonts, it is easiest to explain that a font is a design of letters that contains details of their style.
The font is a graphic representation of the text, which can include different font styles, point size, font thickness, tone or design. The image below shows more examples of different fonts. Software programs such as Word, Excel, and WordPad allow users to change the Font they use when you enter text in a document or cell, just as web designers do.
What are the different fonts:
Although technically a font can contain many different details, such as point size and color, you can safely call “Verdana” a font. When you get to buy a font online, you’re actually buying a digital file there that you need to install on your computer later. You can see this as a small piece of software that should tell you what purchased letters should look like visually.
What is the font family?
There are situations when you buy fonts and you hear sellers telling you that they are selling you a whole font family. Sounds good, but what is it really about? If you use completely normal Fonts like Arial, you are actually using the entire Font Arial family instead. If you have entered a word in a text editor, you should be able to easily turn it into different Font variations:
- Bold Italic
Together, all these variations of the font form the family of the fonts.
Below we give you an example of the fonts family “Book Antiqua”. Book Antiqua is a family of several different fonts, which are:
- Bold Italic
Depending on your needs, you can purchase one and a single font or a whole set of fonts.
The font family always consists of at least two variations, but there is no set maximum, which means that the font family can consist of an infinite number of different Font types. There are Font families that have hundreds of Fonts, each with its own personal characteristics. As a font creator, you will most likely want to buy one specific font that immediately caught your eye and looks good in your projects. However, if you are interested in creating a site or publishing a printed work, you may want to use one stylish Font with a large number of members so that you can change your Font from time to time throughout the site without disturbing you.
How to use Fonts?
The first step after purchasing fonts online is to install them on your computer. Their use depends entirely on the application you are using. You can see the guide here. We tell you how to install Fonts on different operating systems and how to use each application separately for each Font.
